La Troposfera

The lowest layer of the atmosphere, known as the troposphere, extends from the surface from the Earth's surface to beyond the clouds you can see normally. In this area of the atmosphere, the air is colder as the elevation is higher. Between the troposphere and the next layer of the atmosphere, the stratosphere is the tropopause. The tropopause is simply the point of minimum temperature between the two layers, and its height varies around the Earth. The tropopause is usually about eight kilometers of land in the polar regions and about 15-18 miles high in the tropics.
